Kabul

A Family Park in Kabul
Bibi Mahro

You used to be able to smell Stockholm, now one of the world's best cities, from 15km away. Cities, with better sewage, have changed the world. Kabul, capital of Afghanistan is the fifth fastest growing city with around 3.7 million people. Over 3,500 years old, many different empires have had control. It has been a centre of Zoroastrianism, Buddhism, Hinduism and Islam. Cities have always forced people to confront differences and deal with change. Like Angola, Kabul and Afghanistan became a proxy battlefield during the Cold War. Afghanistan lies 9th on the fragile state index. One day Kabul may be one of the best cities in the world.
