Creating opportunities for community building is hard. It is very tempting for us to spend time with people who are the same as us. I am very guilty. If the world was just 150 representative people, only 7 would speak English as their first language. Including a couple of lighties and a couple of very wrinklies. 3.5 ladies. My world is very mirror like. Sport provides a magic catalyst to build relationships. Every Friday at 5pm, Langa Hockey Club hosts a 5km run through the streets. Townships were designed to keep people separate, it would be a wonderful thing if their lasting legacy is of teaching us about community.
